About the role

Rivach is looking for an AI Engineer Intern who is excited about building with modern AI technologies and learning how real AI systems are engineered. You will work with experienced engineers on prototypes, internal tools and product capabilities involving large language models, APIs, retrieval, automation and software engineering. We care more about strong fundamentals, curiosity and evidence that you build things than an extensive list of credentials.

What you'll work on

• Build and test prototypes using large language models and AI APIs.
• Experiment with prompting, retrieval, agents, tool use and other modern AI patterns.
• Develop small backend services, scripts and integrations in Python.
• Evaluate AI outputs and help identify reliability and quality issues.
• Work with APIs, datasets and application components used by production projects.
• Document experiments and communicate what worked, what failed and what should be tried next.
• Work closely with engineers to turn promising experiments into usable software.
• Continuously learn new tools, models and engineering approaches.

What we're looking for

• Strong interest in artificial intelligence and software engineering.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Understanding of programming fundamentals, APIs and basic data structures.
• Some hands-on experience experimenting with LLMs, machine learning or AI APIs.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies independently.
• Evidence of building projects through coursework, hackathons, personal work, internships or open-source contributions.
• Clear communication and willingness to receive technical feedback.

What would make you stand out

• Experience with FastAPI, Flask or another backend framework.
• Experience using OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or other model APIs.
• Familiarity with embeddings, vector databases or RAG.
• Basic understanding of Git, databases, Docker or cloud platforms.
• A portfolio, GitHub profile or project demonstrating genuine hands-on AI experimentation.
